COVID Vaccine – Priority Groups

Posted by: Simon Sherwin - Posted on:

In order to help people who are enquiring about the COVID vaccination we thought we would share the current guidance on the COVID priority groups to explain the order in which people are gong to be vaccinated.

The Joint Committee of Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have set out a prioritisation for persons at risk. JCVI ranked the eligible groups according to risk, largely based on prevention of COVID-19-specific mortality.

These Groups are ranked 1-8. Primary Care Networks will work their way through these groups in this order as quickly as we can.

Group 6 also contains the details of what constitutes an “at risk group” if you are between the ages of 16-65.

The list and details can be viewed here
