COVID Vaccine Clinics – update

Posted by: Simon Sherwin - Posted on:

We have received notification this weekend from NHS England that vaccinations can begin from Monday 15th February for patients in Priority Groups 5 & 6

Group 5 (65-70y) will shortly receive invitations from the National Booking Service (NBS) to attend a vaccination centre or community pharmacy setting. This would enable the GP surgeries (Primary Care Networks) to focus on Group 6. Should patients in Group 5 choose, they can be vaccinated by the Primary Care Network. However, we would encourage taking the up the earliest offer of a vaccination you receive.

Group 6 (Adults aged 16-65 in an “at risk” group) will be invited by GP surgeries as part of the Primary Care Network. Importantly, we have been asked to prioritise those individuals who have the greatest personal risk within this cohort, so please don’t assume this will be by age. Also, this will be one of the largest groups we vaccinate and it will take multiple clinics to work our way through this population, so please be patient.

THE MESSAGE REMAINSPlease don’t call us. We will text or call you when the time for your vaccination arrives.

Our progress as ever depends on the frequency and quantity of the vaccines delivered, and this is out of our control.
